Harley Janisch

Harley E. Janisch, 87, of Janesville died Thursday, March 24, 2011 at Mercy Hospital & Trauma Center. Harley was born September 15, 1923 in New Ulm, MN, the son of Paul and Martha (Fiemeyer) Janisch. He married June Ballmer on December 25, 1946. Harley was a World War II veteran having served in the U.S. Army Air Corps. He was employed at General Motors for 331/3 years from 1952 to 1985. Harley was a very active member of St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church where he was a very faithful usher for many years and active in numerous other church activities. He was also a member of U.A.W. Local # 95 and V.F.W. Kienow-Hilt Post # 1621.

Surviving are 2 sons, Harley D. (Verna) Janisch and Terry (Millie) Janisch both of Janesville, 2 grandsons, Dan (Lisa) Janisch of Tower, MN, Craig (Michelle) Janisch of Janesville, 1 great-grandson, Connor Janisch of Janesville. He was preceded in death by his wife, June, on April 26, 2000. Also preceding him are his parents, a half-brother, Paul Janisch and a half-sister, Arlene Gehrke.

Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday, March 28, 2011 at St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 210 S. Ringold St., Janesville with Pastor James Hendrikson officiating. Burial will be in Bethel Cemetery, Center Township, with military rites by Kienow-Hilt V.F.W. Post # 1621. Visitation hours are from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, March 27th at Henke-Clarson Funeral Home, 1010 N. Wright Rd., Janesville and at the church Monday from 12:30 p.m. until the time of services.
